Jennie Dickson-Mills
Jennie is a Koru Trainer & Certified Koru Teacher, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT) with over a decade of experience working in higher education, and thousands of hours of experience teaching yoga and mindfulness to people from a wide range of backgrounds. She worked for 5 years as a counselor at Duke University’s Counseling and Psychological Services, and has a private practice in Chapel Hill, NC.
Jennie finds great joy helping emerging adults discover and develop a mind-body connection, and nurture their ability to observe their thoughts, feelings, body sensations, and experiences with greater awareness and self compassion. Her clinical practice focuses on mindfulness and somatic-based therapies, with a specialization in trauma and its impact on nervous system regulation.
She is skilled at bringing mindfulness concepts to life through the expression of body movement and breath, and particularly excited to help young people develop yoga programs that will enhance and complement their mindfulness and meditation practices. Jennie developed the yoga curriculum for the Center for Koru Mindfulness® and continues to explore the intersection of yoga and mental health through her work as a counselor and teacher.
